I am a makeup artist, and I work for Mac.

GLYCERIN.

You can find it at most drug stores, but Mac Pro also makes pure glycerin, as well as several mixing mediums (alcohol, water and gel based).

Don't use water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It evaporates and leaves the shadow dry. Don't use anything with oil in it either, it ruins the pigments and will leave eyelids greasy. Mixing mediums add chemicals to the pigments and create ACTUAL eyeliner and mascaras formulas out of the pigments.

Check Mac Pro's mixing mediums out: http://www.macpro.com/templates/products鈥?/a>

If you are not a Mac Pro member, and don't live near a Mac Pro store, you will have to call the 1-800# to order.

Hope this helps! :)Makeup Artists: How to make pigments into liners and mascaras?
